We found this guy looking for food in the dirt in the middle of the day... I thought he was pretty cool.

Looks like a young bird just fledged......

When they get on the ground like that in that kind of swamp they're usually hunting Crayfish......they'll take frogs and snakes and anything else they can in that situation but they're most often actively looking for a mudbug dinner......neat to see them catch them in areas where you spend time but never see any yourself....

Yeah, he picked through the sticks and leaves on the mud along the bank. I hoped he wold catch something but I want THAT lucky...
