What's Biting?

Any Reports?

So, who's catching what and where?

Fished the FSFA tourny yesterday and it was tough fishing, very slow. We did manage 5 dolphin and a kingfish. The kingfish held on for 3rd place while the dolphin fell off the board.

Warm water is here and the bite is tough but atleast grouper is now open. Several nice grey where brought to the scales.

Last week in the Striker / Fishstock tournament, we went 5 for 8 on dolphins on Day 1. Day 2 was much slower and we only managed 1 dolphin... but we were targeting wahoo's. Largest dolphin was 32 1/2 lbs. Managed 4th place dolphin with it. Difference between 4th place and 1st place was less than 1 lb.

Mostly scattered weeds out there. Caught most all fish between 170 and 220 ft. blue/white was best color.

    Catch'em up.

Flounder are chewing from Ponce Inlet all the way up the intercoastal to Tomoka.

Fished Saturday out of PC. Decided to stay in close after going deep last trip and never went deeper than 100 ft. Landed 10 phins to 19 lbs, 4 throwback peanuts. Skirt color of the day was pink on short flat lines with small-med hoos. Had 5-6 other knockdowns but missed them. All singles, never had a fish with company. First fish in 80 ft and 77.1 degrees. Most action in 77.5 range and 80-85 ft.

Fished PC Sat afternoon 1/2 day and Sunday - Full day. Reports of Smaller Phins in 90-130 and bigger ones out deep, we hit the aftn bite saturday and stayed shallow, lines in at 1pm 100 feet of water. Fished till 4p with 2 Phins. 1 nice 18lb gaffer, and 1 peanut around 7 lbs. Had the Gaffer cooked up at Rusty's by 6:30pm.

Sunday, took a chance and ran deep. Lines in on the Cones by 7:45 am. Had 4 nice gaffers 15-20lbs in the box by 10am. Also released one legal peanut, he and i have a date next year :\. Around 10a the bite slammed shut. Between 10am and 3pm we worked in from the cones, over 27F, then over 21F 1 sailfish knockdown, 1 cuda, and 2 more Dolphin knockdowns. Great morning bite sunday, but they were full by 10am, and the rest of the day was slow. Still a great day on the water!

Plenty of fish around inshore at Sebastian....if you get out early. Trout will eat topwater early and you can pick some more up on jig & soft plastic as the sun gets higher. Redfish are around if you know where to look but the sightfishing is tough with the water being junked out most places. The big surprize is the strong flounder bite. I've been getting a nice size one every other day while fishing the jig.

Sunday was pretty awesome for me...I had Trout,Reds and a Flounder in the AM...Came home and watched the NASCAR race...Then went with my son in the evening and landed 4 Snook and two Tarpon.

South Indian River flats are ON FIRE with big gator trout and nice slot and over slot reds. I have snagged a few flounder but i am fishing mostly top water plugs. sooo not to many flounder on that.
