The fish have been cooperating pretty well. On monday I had 2 guys from Texas, galveston. They get nice reds and trout up there so I had to find something different even though the redfish bite has been good lately. It was real windy as we left but once we got to the outside it laid down a bit and were able to head out in somes bumpy conditions but nothing crazy. As we headed out we ran into schools of macks. I quickly rigged up and they started catching fish after fish and man they loved every second it was fun to watch. After that I wanted to challenge them and ran some traps. The trips were pretty thin but they managed a couple keepers with a slob in there.Tuesday I had a father son duo and redfish was gona be the target and redfish, trout, snook, grouper and jacks is what they caught and had alot of fun doing it. Brian was pretty good and I ended up just hanging out on the deck jiging for trout with him.
weds. Was a cool trip too withe the redfish willing to play. The bite was a lil slower the only managed 2 but tgats partially due to Ron becoming obsessed toying with the dang snappers. We went throygh 8 dozen shrimp in about 3 hours. Ron and his wife Sharon got redfish, keeper snapper, big jacks couple macks and some whiting. They had a great time and steady action and have some nice puctures to bring back to Michigan.
all three trips were afternoon half day trips to catch the strong incoming tide and let the sun come up a bit. Tear Em Up!
