If you've been out on the water over the last few days you know how windy it's been but hopefully you've been catching a few decent fish. There are plenty of snook hiding under the mangroves and even though they like live bait best, artificials work too. Local angler Cal Tinkey landed this 28 incher on a Gulp Shrimp under a Cajun cork.
Big trout are everywhere but we seem to really crush them one day and they get lock jawed the next. Bob Gertner went home with a couple days worth of filets last weekend.
My favorite regular angler Jerry Pfeil landed the nicest red of the week with this 26 incher from the Indian Fields north of Matlacha at yesterday's high tide.
And my buddy Dave Stiffler demonstrated why he's the world's greatest angler by using a single lure to land two fish.
Not the best weather but great tides made up for it last week.
