WOW!! Thank you great information to know!!! Next time I go out I will try it. Will using my GPS for reefs work also ? I have a Garmin 3010 something like that. It is very detailed, or reef fishing basically hit or miss.

Use 1/0 - 2/0 hooks on fishfinder rigs and you will many times have non stop action with smaller reef fish. You can usually pull up a wide variety of reef fish, lots of trash fish but some good eats also....grey triggerfish, snapper, etc. you can also fish a whole sardine for kingfish, but use a 3 hook rig or jig...or a wire leader if not.

Your bottom finder will be your best friend for targeting yellowtail. You need to find a reef. It will look bumpy and erratic as well as a hard bottom signal. If it looks flat dont waste your time. Then anchor up, make sure u have a steady current going to the rear. Drop two bags of chum in your chum bag and slowly drift back some cut bait on small hooks. Typical small live bait hooks are perfect. The key is to drift your baits back making it look part of the chum. Take about 5 blocks of chum for daytime, Good luck
