Never fished one but the Phenix rods/blanks are becoming quite popular. Posts pic.s of your build.

I love phenix blanks I have a 9ft bucktail rod and an 8_6ft live bait rod and both are phenix. Ive never had an issue with them whatsoever. I use all fuji guides on all the rods that I have made.

This one is gonna be all black and will have a black sustain on in with the lime green suffix 832 so it should look sick.

for a 3000 size reel a 30 is too big. if you are thinking you're using a 30 because of the height, then use the "h" instead of the "j".
you are using braid, braid doesnt have memory like mono does and the coils coming out from the spool can be controlled by the stripper ASAP.

I agree. On my 2000 I run use a 20 butt guide to a size 12. Then size 5 fly guides from there to the tip. I am using 10lb Jerry Brown. You want roughly the butt guide to be half the diameter of you spool.
