what fish is taking chunks out of my Paul Brown?

Went out of Yates Creek yesterday an hr before high tide and fish 3 hrs. no luck anywhere I fished. Creek mouths, or in them, or near shore up to 3 ft.
Water temp went from 60 up to 62. I did have 4 Z-Man's cut in half on a bobber and a 3/4" half circle cut out of the top of my Paul Brown.
I saw the strike on my Paul Brown. well kind of, the lure was 8' from the boat when it was tapped and moved sideways about a ft. When I pulled it up it had the chunk out of it. I didnt see a flash of any kind so I doubt it was a Mackrel. Any idea what it could be??

Puffer is a good possibility, but also might be a big sheepie.

Puffer there have been a lot of them around there lately. Fished the same spot Sunday just pulled out 2 slot reds and a 20" trout, missed a gator but not much action we were out there all day and only had 4 bites.

+1 One reason I rarely fish a Corky, unless I know for sure there are no blues around. I've got some that look just like that.
