We were trying to get over to Bimini this weekend for a quick wahoo trip but kids schedules and weather killed that idea. Read E$'s report yesterday and got me motivated, son #1 even said he would get up early. Cleared Hillsboro at 7am and put the lines in heading North, staying between 150-250'. Got a little N of Boca inlet and while I was on the phone, short line gets crushed, "gottem on, got to go!", I always love doing that. Fish was very cooperative and in the transom door he came, nice! mission accomplished. 158', 7:45am. Put them out again, circled around to go over the mark and nothing. What? we are supposed to get another one at the same spot, right? Went another 1/4 mile and there he is again on the long blue/white Rays lure. Not as big but still welcomed through the transom door. 2-2 in about an hour and a half, a little less fuel burned than a Bimini run.Son #1 was stoked, I was too as I didn't have to be the winder.
First fish ate purple/black Yozuri close to the transom. Thanks Eric for the inspiration! What they lacked in size they more than made up for with the meals coming, been awhile since I had blood on the deck.

Nothing better than fishing with the kid (grown or little)
