We have been lucky. I am just learning how to fish the Atlantice and there are many people on the forum that are alot smarter than me. I just try to repeat what I have heard is working. At noon I was thinking wow, this might be the day we get skunked, but still beats being at work. I was running a mix of skirts. One was just a plastic red/white skirt over pre-rigged ballyhoo. Same one that caught the marlin. A couple of Islander weighted skirts over the ballyhoo. A few generic type skirts with bubller fronts. Even ran a cedar plug for awhile. Nothing fancy. Still get made fun of because I use prerigged ballyhoo to start then rig my own while we are trolling. Did do one thing different at noon. I ran a bird followed by a small artificial squid then ran a naked ballyhoo behind that off of the rigger. All the bites started after that change. Could just be coincidence but I will always run that rig again. Running about 8-9 knots with lots of wind, big seas so kept the inside flatlines short, then outriggers longer then shotgun real long in middle. Seem to keep lines from tangling in wind. I keep trying to change up the lures until we start catching something. Keeps you busy on the boat. Hope this helps and good luck!
