Fished for 5 hours today on the last of the falling tide and start of the incoming tide. Water temperate was 55 degrees with light winds keeping the noseeums down. With hunting season largely over I’m shifting gears to fishing. The goal for the day was to work on float rig fishing with two specific spots in mind.
Not much at the first spot near Pine Island but bluefish and two whiting (dinner). I attribute that to minimal water flow. On the incoming I ran over to the second spot and it was slow but there were fish there. Managed four (4) trout to 17 inches, a number of short trout, a small sheepie, a few bluefish (for the smoker), and some silver perch for the blue crab traps.
Mixed bag
Running home I run into CAPTAIN LEON of Shark Bait fame!!
Nice few hours on the water plus dinner.
Brian
