Unfortunately I only got to get out on the water for one day this week with a buddy of mine, but it was well worth it. I had seen a lot of pilchards the week before in a couple spots in White Water Bay and decided to check and see if they were still there. Luckily the first spot we stopped at the pilchards were there and with two throws of the net we had more then enough bait to get us through the day. The first few spots did not produce much, a couple small Snook and a couple small Reds. But as the tide changed and the water started moving, the fish started chewing. We found the fish in this one area and stayed there all day catching fish after fish. We would throw out a handful of pilchards, wait for the fish to eat them, then throw ours in the same spot and hang on. We caught around 20 Red fish from 18inches to 26inches, with only a few of them being in the 18 to 20 inch range. We also caught a handful of Snook mostly in the 15 to 23 inch range, nothing to brag about, the big one got away as usual. We ended the day using the rest of the bait in a few more spots trying to find some bigger Snook but unfortunately no one was home. All in all a great day on the water with a good friend of mine. What else can you ask for…..
