US1 from Ft. Pierce to Melbourne

Need to head up to Melbourne Sat morning and want to avoid the construction on 95 (will be towing a big trailer). How is the ride on US1 from Ft. Pierce to Melbourne?

Make sure your brakes work, you'll be using them, a lot.

Good brakes and a lot of time.
    It's probably only a 45 minute ride isn't it?
I would definitely take 95 and get the ride over with.

    How big of a trailer?
Might be tough to ride US 1 in traffic too.

Trailer is a 40 foot bumper pull and if it matters will probably be hitting US 1 around 7-8am this Saturday

You will be fine. Getting through Vero is the most traffic. Everywhere else is pretty smooth driving.

It also depends on where he is going in Melbourne. 192 is a pain.
