Sage Equator 9WFF match with BVK 8wt?

How will the Sage Ultimate Performance Taper Equator 9WFF match with a TFO BVK 8wt? Can get it at a very good price and would like to use it for bones and for throwing gurglers and clousers at baby tarpon in Mexico.

Can't say for that exact combo but I really like my 8wt Sage Equator I've got on my 7wt MHX.

Have an #8 WF-F Sage Equator that weighs in at 240 grains which is #9 standard weight & it was cast today on a #9 rod. Maybe overlining the BVK &/or MHX 2 line sizes, but mine is an older flyline that might have been mismarked, boxed or just way more than a 1/2 line size bigger.
