Yeah, I see now that it comes in 8lbs and lots of people snapping it off during a hard cast. Kanzen 8lbs is going to be half the strength of Stren or PP in 8lbs test, not because it is a weaker line. It is because it is a MUCH thinner line. You are going to cast a mile but it's true breaking strength is probably right at 8lbs. Add some knots and you will get anywhere from 4-7lbs. I tested the 12lbs. I can't tell the difference between the 10 and 12 lbs and they pretty much breaks right at 10lbs. I had to send back some 15lbs spool that broke at 12-13lbs.

Only way to know it's breaking strength is to pull it until it breaks while you are at home attached to your favorite leader and a spring scale. Sebile knot proves the strongest once again but I don't think you are going to be weaving that knot on a windy day on the flats.

nope- im all uni/uni to get the knots done fast. the 8lb is sick thin but its a bear to use and i cast off $30 in lures before i gave up.

Yeah, it is extremely thin and weaving a line that thin on 12-15 fluro is a royal pain. Try a 8 turn spider hitch then do a yucatan with the 12lb fluro. It just might give you 1lbs more of strength over the uni-uni.
