I heard high hook was 9,the mutton bite was slow, but most of the ones that did come up we're big boys, and if the red snappers were open we all would have limited out,i do think that the grouper bite was good, and yellowtails were plentiful if you were after them HONESTLY I didn't see any muttons over 18-18.5lbs if someone was hiding their big boy, then ok

Cameron & Jack, good catches. Did Ivan fish this trip too, he was on Rick charter? Jan is deep freeze for me in Toronto. Try to make it down in Feb when it lets up.

    Hoogan

At this time Kilsong and a bunch of NJ boys are battling some COWs on the Excel out of CABO and fishing N at PV.
The interest is definitely increasing among East Coasters venturing on SD boats. I hope my chance will come 2014. Kilsong plans to book the Maximus again for a 2-3 days run out of PV. It will be the most direct shot at some COWs without running around. This assuming fishing will again be hot off PV and there are no regulatory issues. Still finding 15 fully committed people to fish a specific date will always be a challenge. Venice is a lot easier to wet an appetite unless you want to be punished by the bad girls out west. I heard they are meaner than even the BFT/BET we have on the Atlantic. PM me your thoughts.

    Sorry everyone,
Did not want to de-rail this thread, but the thought of doing a 10 - 15 day trip out of San Diego for COWS is very alluring.
