my old man was in the airforce when it was still the army air corp....
he did a lot of stuff from flying in b-36's and up...
then he had a position when we lived in europe that he never wore a uniform and could speak 5 languages (spanish, french. russian, arabic and persion)....
to this day (he's 83) he won't tell me what he was doing...he was also a korean and 'nam vet...
he still fly fishes a couple times of week and rides his vulcan on long trips....
and some people denigrate the usaf....

My dad was on the C-5 design project way back in the day.
Does your Dad know anything about the issues with the C-5? Wing box issues and weight issues?

I've never understood that eather.........instead I save my denigration for the Coast Guard!
I'm certain he does. He was more involved in systems than the airframe. A group of his coworkers visited one night when I was probably about 12, heard lots of stories that night.
