Cool fish. Like no triggerfish I've caught. Curious to hear ID on it. How big was it?

I believe that is a species of Filefish.

Yes they are around in the IRL, below is one that I caught off Rockledge Drive, just North of Pineda or where you may have been fishing. Very tough to catch on rod and reel.

I think I fish, in part, because it’s an anti-social, bohemian business that, when gone about properly, puts you forever outside the mainstream culture without actually landing you in an institution. –John Gierach

Doesn't look like Trigger. Only one fin on top.No trigger. I say Filefish. Very tasty milky white meat.

That's so funny!! I caught 2 of those things in the last week or so trying to catch bait in the IRL down near Sebastian. I had never seen one before and logged on here to post a pic to find out what it was. No need to do that now.

You wouldn't believe how many of those things are down there. I dive the river from time to time and see hundreds. All about that size. There was this guy tied up to the fenders fishing for them and he said it was the best tasting fish in the river. He probably had 20 of them.

Grills offers Filefish daily as an option in the fish sandwich.

Its pretty popular in a lot of restaurants, but the ones I caught are so thin, they look like they have no meat in them.
