    Its always an adventure

Today I had a split trip. Two good freinds Clint and Kyle and two customers Howie and Curt. We ran out of POI as usual and after a look at the weather, I immediatly decided to make the long run to the offshore wrecks and see what I could find.

The spanish are everywhere. We caught well over 100 fish and kept the biggest, some of which were very nice fish. Sheepshead came to play as usual, snapper, pomps, and also the trout bite was hot offshore. Live shrimp was the big winner, but really was neck and neck with shrimp tipped dons potbelly jigs. I am a huge fan of theirs and they produce fish on every trip I go on. ( Not affiliated).
Curts first ever speckled Trout, and then immediatly another

    Kyles monster snaplet

Then catching spanish and jacks two at the time

Curt was reeling in a sheepshead and the goliath wanted it more so we lost a nice fish. A little later he hooked up again with something with some size. After a good long battle he got his first black drum

Back to the dock and I cleaned fish for about an hour and a half or so. Filled some nice bags with fillets for these guys.

A great day on the water. Got to chat with Capt Joe (Joesnook), a great guy about his day out and his upcoming adventures. Not going to give it away but I am looking forward to his upcoming reports. Hes a great Capt and puts his folks on the fish. As we were heading home we spotted a stray dog having a tough time and for some reason we decided to stop and check on it. I am glad we did as it was the perfect ending for my day. The happiest and most well behaved little dog, which I am sure had been dumped was so glad for the company. One of my crew took to him pretty quick and the dog to him. And in the truck he jumped. Rode on his lap the rest of the way. Got to the house and my wife had a collar and leash we put on him, the Kyle headed home to show the kids and see if the wife was going to throw him out of the house for the night.

I am happy to report that in a text I just received, the dog is a hit, and settling in with both the kids and the wife. So the dog and family all win tonite.
