Went out this morning with the Gheenoe and the ramp was busy as conditions were much better than yesterday. Put in and headed over to the west side to our first spot. Fish were busting and what appeared to be spanish macs clearing the water. Only took a few casts to catch some jacks, ladyfish and of course a few trout. Then dad hooks up to something that pulls some drag! After a good fight and what we think is a bigger jack, up comes a nice pompano that was caught on the Unfair Lures Rip N Slash! What don't these things catch? Dad's 1st pomp ever and was a "keeper", but we released back into the river to be caught again another day. After that, we caught a few more trout and then decided to run north, closer to the power lines. Fog was thick up that way and fishing was slow. Finally Dad pops a nice trout on the gold Rip N Slash. Went back closer to the Jensen Causeway as the north winds started to pick up and found a pretty good trout hole. Catching 15 over the next half hour. Then I hooked up a lizardfish and right beside the boat, what appeared to be a bluefish comes up, mouth open and eats it! Bit the lizardfish in half. After that it was trout and lots of trash fish. Called it a day before lunch and a pretty good trip it was. Caught over 75 fish total and Dad caught his first pomp. We did skip a few more pomps on the way back to the ramp. All fish were caught on a variety of different colored Rip N Slash's and Viper Minnows.
