Had an outstanding redfish bite while fishing the docks on the west side of the river this week. Monday Chick and crew had a great morning with 6 upper slot reds, 2 rat reds, 2 snook,1 black drum, countless sheepshead, jacks, and a few bluefish. Tuesday I had Howard and Kaitlyn and the redfish really fired off. They landed somewhere between 10-15(I lost count), a monster pompano, and a few small black drum. The wind from the front started cranking around 10:30 or so and we called it quits shortly after that. Thursday I had Rob, Max, and Earl out. We hit the docks again chasing reds and weren't disappointed. They boated 4 reds, black drum, sheepshead, small snook, and unfortunately lost a few nice ones to the pilings. The water temp. dropped 9 degrees from Tuesdays trip and definitely slowed the action down. Today I fished by myself and picked up a few rat reds, small trout, and a few small snook. The majority of the fish this past week were caught on free lined shrimp with a #4 or #5 split shot. Today's fish were caught on DOA cals(309), mirrolure(c17mrtrout), and gulp shrimp(new penny).
