I had the day off on Tuesday (01/15/13) and nothing booked so I decided to enjoy the day and do a little fishing by myself. Got a late start and was not on the water till around 9:30am and got to my first spot at around 10am. Right away I started catching Reds, mostly in the 15 to 20 inch range, and a handful of small Snook. After bending the rod on some Reds and Snook for a while I decided to try and fill the cooler with some Sheapshead for dinner later and was not disappointed. I ended up catching a handful of Sheapshead in the 16 to 18 inch range and a couple of Black Drum just for fun. Was done fishing by 2:30pm and back at the ramp by 3:00pm. Not to bad for a few hours of fishing Solo.
The next day (01/16/13) I fished with local angler Thomas, who fishes with me on a regular basis. He had the day off and I can not think of a better way to spend it. The weather was beautiful and the fish were hungry. We each caught a handful of Red fish up to 24 inches, with Thomas catching the biggest ones. After that we caught a handful a Snook and a couple of Black Drum as well. During the day I had mentioned to him that I fished the day before and had caught a bunch of Sheapshead not to far from where we were and he was game to give it a try. Just like the day before the Sheapshead were there and ready to eat. We caught our share of Sheapshead for the rest of the day and even had a few surprise catches of a small Goliath grouper and a nice size Blue fish. Just another beautiful day in paradise if you ask me.
