    One percent keeper ratio 1-8

Took a trip with littlecthefishslayer,perlman123,Kit-the-hog-Hustler and Wayne out to the area I have been fishing lateley,20 miles W of JP.We made a few throws for bait at the JP bridge and blacked out the livewell on the second cast. The first thing we noticed when we started to get some action was that the scamps had taken over this area, and usually after the inational bite they give up,but not on this day. They were giving a decent battle and they were Fat.We probably caught 100 scamps threw out the day and 1 was a keeper. All were around 15" and had to go back.I tried using the swimbait technique but didnt manage one single bite.Conrad got the rare keeper scamp plus the lone hogfish of the day.The underwater footage on this trip was crazy, the scamps had over run everything that was there the last two weeks.

Couldn't get past them. You can see you were lucky to make it to the gags or mangos before they got a hold of the bait.

Those pics and video are sweet!! I just got a gopro for Xmas and can't wait to drop it in the water!! Just wondering if anyone on here has dropped it in and got stuck on something and not get it back? That's my only fear.

Very cool footage, though, that could be the worst soundtrack to date. The shorty scamp are definitely plentiful, nice grunt in the first pic.

Are the underwater photos pulled from the video or did you set the camera to take pictures? Those came out really cool. Thanks for the report.

I have dropped down my gopro at least 50 times, never lost it.I have had sharks brush up against it and triggerfish bite it though.

They are video stills from the underwater footage.
