Decided to hit 1000 Islands in Cocoa Beach this morning to try and redeem myself for last weekends screw up with my new GoPro that I turned off just as I hooked a nice snook. Hit the water around 8am at the Ramp Road ramp. What a beautiful morning. Low winds and sunny. Water was very clear near the ramp. Headed south toward the main channel and started to smell really nasty mangroves. The water was much dirtier, but I have fished there before and knew there would be fish there. Threw out a chartreuse jighead with a 3" New Penny shrimp and boom. Hookup!Wanted to make sure I had the footage this time and not miss it. Get the fish yakside and its a nice redfish. Take my time with the release and she lives to fight another day. After that, the bite was dead! I only saw a few trout on the flats and nothing else all day. Hope you enjoy the video.
