You may have the sharpest hook on the planet, but it's not worth a damn if it can't hold a fish without SNAPPING!!! I've lost two fish because that BS composite compound they use snapped under pressure from heavy fish (type unknown). Sticking to Mustad or any other company that uses real metal.

Paragon, I know where you are coming from. I had the same thing happend to me a few months with those hooks on a TROUT yes a broken hook on a TROUT!
Since that time I switched over to Gamakatsu hooks. These are quality hooks let me tell you.
Yes to the Gammys. Owners are good also. You get what you pay for. Fishing costs to much overall to lose a good fish because you wanted to save two dollars on hooks.
Agreed, but then they're marketing them like they're the "next big thing". Blair Wiggins needs to research what he peddles a bit better... Hate to say that I only gave them a try because of his show.
I've used the 7/0's for grouper for years. Never had one break and I shake off a lot of fish.
I once had a 4/0 break when I was unhooking a redfish with a pliers.
I like them because they're sharp and cheap. Maybe you had a bad lot.
Where did you buy them? There's a lot of Chinese counterfeit stuff out there.

Agreed, they were cheap, and your post reminded me of another one that broke when I tried dehooking a ray with pliers. So that's three. I guess I wouldn't be as upset if it weren't on large fish, but there's something to be said about real metal hooks.
Got them at strike zone here in melbourne. They don't carry knockoffs and they've always been awesome with the customer servie.
