Cold and Chilly But Buggy!

I found a ton of shorts with a few keepers here and there freediving gulfside in the chilly waters-temp 67.6 degrees-not something I really enjoy in the colder water but wanted some bugs for the new year. Naturally could not net them all as I was in the water solo and it was very difficult to stay down in about 10 feet in my shorty wetsuit without a weight belt. The larger bug was super tough to get out of a rock and was super sweet to finally net. At least I got 2 for the wife and I.

Last year at the end of October, I went on a 3 day trip down to get some bugs, but the water was about 69-68 and I could only do 1/2 a day, and did not get into the water again that year. This year I decided to not even try. Good on you for braving the cold for some fresh meat.

Nice bugs and I know you enjoyed them.

Gotta love living down there and being able to go out and get a couple bugs for dinner...I have to portion my 16-20 tails I bring back in August all year
