Gathered the usual suspects and headed over to Grand Cay last Friday. Great weather and crossing. Secured clearance and rooms and headed out to catch the last couple hours of out going. Ended up w/ going 6/7 that afternoon, including a triple. Couple nice fish, one of which got sharked. 4 were in the 10-12# wehoo range. After the tide change, we were able to jump in the water for a little slinging before dusk. Got some hogs and a mutton.
The next morning was a different story. As expected, the winds were up. Had lines in at sunrise and ended up 2/4, with a nice fish lost at the boat. Trolling was not bad, but the wind made for a lot of spray on the inshore jogs. Did some spearfishing late morning and decided to start home. The bank swells were steep and deep as I have seen in a long time. The run from second reef to White Sands was directly into it and it was slow going. Hit the edge and it was stacked up and breaking, but eased up a little bit once were were in deep water. Got nicer as we got closer to home.
All in all, we had a lot of fun as usual and managed to pick up a few fish. I've has so much wahoo in the last 2 weeks that I may be developing stripes.
Sorry for the pic size, thought that I downsized them to medium, too pissed off watching the Gators to resize them.
