Wahoo 68lbs Caught Christmas Eve, What a Present !

Had my buddy cancelle this last night due to Christmas Eve family get together.

Left Port Canaveral by myself at 8:00am Christmas Eve in my 21' Proline WA

Started out at Reef 8A, catching some Bonitta's, in Hopes of a BIG KING!

After the Bonitta's stripped 1/2 dozen of my Bali-Hoo, they were fun to catch, I headed out to the 20 mile weather Buoy

By the time I got out their, wind had picked up, really overcast, sea's were about 3'-4'

I switched all the skirts over to Black & Red, Black/Purple/Red etc for Wahoo

Picked up the speed to 10- 12 knott's and Santa Dropped by and gave me this present!!

Took 30 minutes to land, all most spooled my Shimano Tyrnos 30 Reel with 40lb Power Pro High Viz Mono !

This BIG BOY hit the scale at 68.2 lbs !

Once I got the fish along side the boat, I had no help, had to gaf him, drag him over the side, I fell backwards cause of the roll on the boat side to side, and was exhausted after getting this big boy in the boat!

What a way to end 2012 and Merry Christmas !!

very nice..i talked to u on the vhf that day..we had a late trip n didnt get lines in water till 230..landed a sail at nightfall as we made first pass by the bouy...got beat the freak up coming in on the 19 footer...well done i didnt realize you were solo..cheers!!
