Don't feel bad, Holy and Righteous Earl says the same thing about me, because I don't presume to be as holy and righteous as he. It's kind of a spiritual sour grapes thing he does.

I've experienced it before. When I went to Bible college I would get into discussions with several professors espousing their views more than what was written. Robert won't be the last one to use the "casting pearls before swine" line at me. Earl's are more tame and aimed more at making him feel better about himself than about me. I just view it as the end result of a weak argument.

I am going to bet that these two have turned to the church of big government and believe that all should tythe under the threat of a gun so that the government can provide the services that churches once did under a voluntary system.

To counter your absurd statement, why is it services the church once provided ?

If the church truly feels it is its their responsibility, morally and under the covenant to provide for those in need, and the church ignores those in need and allows the government to handle these issues.
Is the church not guilty of violating covenant?
