That's a nice option, but I think I like the foot on the Wang a bit better for when it will double as a pushpole.

I'll keep my 8' Park N Pole. The Wang is a similar product but man oh man are those brackets pricey.

That's true, but I think you'd be able to fashion something for them that's reliable and cheap. In any event, for my kayak, I'd be able to just drop it through the scupper hole - so, no bracket needed (at least as far as I can see).
