December 18th Holiday Isle, fishing report

On Tuesday December 18th quite a few boats out of Holiday Isle/Post Card Inn went out. The Gotcha crushed the snapper! Captain Easy caught sailfish and table fish! The Early bird caught FLAG Yellow tails and mangrove snapper and multiple sail fish. The First Choice caught and released four sailfish. The Phoebe caught also fished with a collection of fish coming to the dock. I did see some smaller dolphin over the weekend in the 250 foot range but I am a firm believer that when bill fish are here they should be fished for. Most of the boats found the sails in bait showers. This is probably the most exciting fishing in the Keys, running at high speeds to showering bait schools and sight casting a live bait to feeding sailfish on very light tackle!

Ps, the Bally hoo boats were hard at work in Islamorada/Tavernier this last week so when you find it hard to catch baits or bait showers cease as there are not the abundance baits anymore please say thank you fisheries in Key Largo!
