    Fall Snook Report

This last week I've focused catching fall snook in areas with warmer water. I fished Miguel Bay a couple days ago and caught about 10 snook on Heddon Spooks. I was working deeper cuts adjacent to the flats when I picked up this snook and several others like it.

Today I fished Boca Ciega Bay using darker colored jigs that would mimic finger mullet. I caught quite a few small Reds and about 20 juvenile snook. I pulled up near an oyster bar with deep water flowing next to it and tossed my jig into a school of finger mullet to nail this snook.

Unfortunately I haven't had time to fish the Little Manatee river yet this week but I will keep fishing the creeks and rivers and chasing snook until it warms up again next march.

Cool! I've still never caught one. I was at Sunset Beach about a month ago looking out over the water on a little wooden dock/lookout they have, and right below it I see a big momma snook cruising by. I ran back to my car to grab a rod, but he was gone when I got back. Someday.

My fish finder said it was 72 degrees where I fished today. Wow 66 is cold for the river. 8 more degrees and they'll be floating.
