After having a great B-day BBQ on Saturday , it was a tough start on Sunday morning , so we bagged the lets get out there early idea we had and headed out at 1:30 in the afternoon to Weeks .We were greated with a lite breeze and a fast incoming tide , we ran for a whole 5 mins. to the grass flats in the center of the bay to ride the tide in , water depth was about 6 inches and Mullet and Reds were starting to move in . Had a couple of good bites and some sad losses in the shallows to start the afternoon off ( hang over ) and then we hit the 2 foot mark on the flats and the fish started coming over the rails . Trout are thick on the grass with good size between 15 to 18 inches hitting everything from Arti's to Shrimp , the largest of the day was this 19 incher put in by esterobaybum
As we drifted the flats we slowly motored with the trolling motor to some inviting islands scatered in the bay to play with some Reds , had a couple of misses , then a good sized school of Ladyfish moved through and then the Reds came out in force , Dave O and myself had a great double a 21 and 24 incher
and esterobaybum pulled in a fat 21 incher . We wraped it up after that and headed back to the ramp with the sun setting in back ground , a great 4 hours on the bay .
Total for the trip 3 Reds , lost count on the Trout , too many Ladyfish , and esterobaybum kept the Kittys busy for us all afternoon.
Baits Zoom jerk worms , Shrimp , and cut Ladyfish .
