12/9 - Trolling and bottom fishing
Got our first and only hoo around 7:30 in 135' of 77 degree water. After an extremely long and patient battle we gaffed a 40# foul hooked hoo that wore us out.. Better safe than sorry.. Worked that zone for a bit then headed out to the ledge thru 78 degree water for nearly 10 miles? Heard the cooler water was a bit north. Worked the ledge w/ not much to show for it and went to the bottom around 12:30. Over the next 2.5 hours we put a mes of fish in the box (~40 trigger, ~10 porgies, 4 phins, AJs and couple red grouper and released too many ARSs).. We had a couple trigger that were in the 8 and 10# range and one grouper that went ~30#. With the exception of a little rain it was a beautiful and warm day on the water.
