It's been a while since I've been on the forum, so I figured I'd update yall with my last few weeks of fishing. After heading out on a few trips with Cameron Schurlknight (used to be trootin on the forum), he convinced me there was a great inshore fishery close to my current home here at UCF. I recently brought my gheenoe up, so I've been making the trip to the East coast a couple times a week. Monster trout, redfish, and black drum roam the crystal clear flats around titusville, which makes for spectacular sight fishing. In the last few weeks I managed to catch my largest redfish and trout to date on artificial...certainly something I didn't expect from an area I knew little about!
I also managed to make it out on Pine Island Sound over Thanksgiving break with my good friends Dillon Massie and Tim Sommer, and we tore up the reds! Unfortunately for the SWFL fish, I'll be making a return to the Fort Myers area for a few weeks here in December for winter break. I have plenty of fishing stories to tell, but finals studying has melted my brain. I figure I'll let the pics do the talking...
PI/Charlotte Harbor fishin with Tim and Dillon:
East coast fishin with Patrick McConachie and Logan Mcintosh:
28" trout!
Estimated 30 lbs red! (caught w/ my 2500 Stradic ci4 on 7'6" redbone medium action rod w/ 10 lbs braid and 20 lbs leader)
Certainly not my best pics, but hopefully santa will bring me a nikkor fish eye lens for christmas!
Tight lines!
