Its been like 4 weeks since the last time I was able to jump on a yak and get out on the water and I was getting thirsty. Oarknot and I said enough is enough, no matter wind, rain or swells we are getting on that water and getting are lines tight. As Saturday approaches we watch the weather calm down and wipe the dust off are gear. We meet at the loading zone on the beach and as I was backing up to my luck I have to wait for some guy that decided to do these weird bending exercises as he faces the sun.
We hit the water by 7:15 and paddle straight out till we couldn't go any further due to a tug boat hauling a freight. We trolled pretty light that day due to the wind and had no takers.We dropped are lead in 220 feet as we wait for the tug boat to pass and first drop I snag onto a huge trigger fish. Second Drop gets hit right on the bottom and I feel a massive pull and that is a good sign. So I winch it up and call out Mutton within seconds Oarknot Locks one on. We try to stay in that zone but we could find anymore mutton but only a few jacks and spanish mack. Oarknot says lets go out to 300 and man that was a great call, I snag onto one more mutton and few tuna's and Oarknot gets another sweet mutton. After a little while the bite stopped and headed to shore at 12:00. It was pretty easy getting back to shore with the wind on are backs and with waves giving us a boost.
