Went out to lunch yesterday with a friend and she told me about a little pond behind the building she manages. Luckily, I had a couple of rods with me and was actually escorted to the water by security on his golf cart. That was such an odd feeling as many of you know, we're usually chased away by them. The pond was pretty small but I quickly saw many broods of peacock fry and countless juvenile lmb, such a great sign. Best part, no turtles or ducks! I did not sight any peas aside from the fry and start to walk the banks. I tie on a suspending slash bait lure and begin my series of twitches and stalls. On the third cast, this pea came out from the bottom and struck my lure on the stall. He gave a pretty nice fight for his size and totally made my day. Thanks again Emma!
I only spent 30 mins. or so here and only caught this one pea and several small lmb. Not much to write home about but I did get the VIP pass and I always love fishing new waters. Got to put in that time for those that really understand what that means...
