Penn Battle 3000 maintenance?
I use my Battle 3k for both fresh water and inshore salt water fishing. I've used it in salt 2 or 3 times for over 25 hours of use. And freshwater I can't even count. Is there any maintenance I should do? I want it to continue spinning as smoothly as possible for it's life.
I understand you can oil the gears but I'm not sure what to use or how to use it... Any help would be appreciated.

Anytime you use your reel in saltwater be sure to give it a good rinse with warm/soap freshwater wash down to remove the saltwater from the reel. Do not use a lot of force because you do not want to push any saltwater into the reel. At the end of every season we recommend having your reel serviced (Oil/Greased). This will keep your reel clean and running smooth.

Is this servicing something I can do myself?

Yes, if you feel comfortable about taking the reel apart there's nothing to it. Did you keep the paperwork/owners manual that came with your reel? There are tips in the manual for servicing your reel that are very helpful.

I'm certain I kept it, now it's just a matter of finding it.
