Got all the pieces back and ready to re-assemble. I'll post pics tommorrow. Reinforced brackets were repaired and a new exterior transom plate is going in.

I would have finished the boat today, but Cuz called for a fishing trip, and I broke my only 3/8 bit so I had to push back the launch date to Friday. Here is what adjustments/reinforcements were made to the joint welds, braces and transom. I prepped, cleaned and primed the aluminum and will eventually paint it JB green.

    Welds….

    Foundation for braces getting prepped……

Reinforced braces. The new angles attach to the transom, and the lower end to the bottom of the boat…..

New aluminum backing plate going outside the transom under the motor. It will also get prepped, cleaned and primed/painted.

Hope to finish it by the weekend for use Friday or Saturday. We’ll see.

    KAMB,

Looks like you're headed in the right direction! Those braces look far more rugged than the originals, but is that just one brace we're looking at, or two? I'll be looking forward to seeing the finished product.

Progress baby…progress. Finally got the transom back together and put the motor back on. The paint job is crap, but I plan on remodeling the boat (new floors and paint) later next year. Good thing since Mamacita came out and asked me what happened to the back of the boat, with all the spots. Did not have enough to finish the entire stern so I “camo’ed” it. It’ll work for now.

A few pics…..aluminum plate for reinforcement.

    Refinished brackets.

    Motor is back home.

Now to wait until after Christmas, since I too po to fish right now.

    Be safe,

    KAMB

Awesome job! The motor mounts and the transom will survive the the next ice age! It looks very strong.

Mighty fine work you did there. Shouldn't have any more problems with that.
