Evinrude WOT

I have a 1989 Evinrude 40 hp and would like know WOT rpm? Right now it is 4200 rpms on a aluminum boat. Thanks.

I would try to get around 5500rpm, what pitch prop is on the engine?

max rpm is 5500 so if you prop the engine for 5100 to 5500rpm, you will be in good shape

Make sure that your tachometer is accurate and I believe the selector on the back of the gauge should be set to 5, not 6, if it is a genuine factory tach.
