    Venice Tripletail

A couple weeks ago, there were lots of tripletail under the crab traps. It blew pretty hard last week and dropped the water temps down to 74 and also dirtied up the water. Ran a lot of traps today, but finally found this guy. It ate a DOA shrimp like it was going out of style. The pic does the fish no justice.

Very nice. We ran ~75 traps yesterday real quick and saw three. One was tiny and wouldn't eat anything (my girlfriend just wanted to catch it for fun), we caught one that went 14" and is out there growing, and this one went 18" and came home for dinner.

Nice !! Yeah, I ran a lot of traps from Sat to Monday and only saw a few. They have definitely thinned out over the past ten days. Lots of big spinner sharks (6-7 ft) under the mackerel schools also.

Kevin, was that a customer or just your own trip? Curious if you got to take the fish home for dinner. Great catch!

Another bucket list fish for me. Have found them, but haven't been able to get them to eat. Tight work.

You have to have live shrimp if you want to land one. I am like 9-10 on live shrimp and 0-10 on anything else.

I've caught 6 so far this fall. Every one has come on DOA Shrimp. Just gotta keep a feel on the line when they suck it in. Then, cross their eyes !!

Good job on the nice 3tail.

Saw Mogan Man recently catch one that went about 30LBS or so. I had no idea they jump as high as they do.
