    foggy day offshore sunday

I officially hate driving in the fog. It makes me realize how many markers and sandbars there are between my canal and the pass. It normally takes us about 5-10 minutes to get to the gulf. Today it took around 45. We saw a kayak floating all by itself in the middle of the intercoastal at one point, wkinda weird. It got a little clearer as we made it to the gulf but didn't clear until about 17 miles out. We ended up with a nice box of red grouper and mangrove snapper. We also caught a couple kingfish. Our best bite was from 90-100 for the snapper and 130 for the grouper. My buddy Matt caught his first keeper grouper too. He was pretty excited. It was nice to get out after all the wind we've had.

Deeper water looks like it paid off, very nice haul. Always fun to get the first one.
