    St. Aug pre fish.

Went out for some Bash pre fishing today. Worked around St. Augustine area and it started slow but we finally found a few slot reds and a small flounder. Then decided to go play with the poons. Sorry, didn't take any pics today. I'll try to get some tomorrow.

The poons were in the inlet. We were throwing Rapala X-raps and some of those huge mullet. The reds were off the good 'ol spoon.

Sounds fun...my dad fishes there all the time and has been telling me about all the poons. When you say played with, did you catch them?

Are there still tarpon out there? I heard one the last week, that sound like of whole lot water getting sucked in by something. Figured they have moved on.

I was out there today and saw some. Where Salt Run meets the rocks is always eventful for Tarpon. Also the aprons of the Vilano Bridge on the tide break sides had some as well. They were smaller ones. Maybe 40lbs.

Thanks for the info! Is Salt Run the main part of the inlet?
