Wife and I went out late and hit the inlet at 8:45. Ran out to 450' and the ocean came alive, interesting enough the large weed patches held nothing, but there were huge schools of bait and fish busting everywhere else. Caught two skipjack quick and it looked like rain was coming in so we got out of dodge and ran home. Rained like crazy just as we got in the canal so I got soaked.
Second part of the story is that we saw this small bird, palm warbler I think, and it just stayed on the boat, sat on my wife's lap, stayed on the steering wheel and finally perched itself on the helm out of the wind so it could look out the windshield. It was with us for about 1.5 hours, we don't know if it was on the boat when we left or it landed later. It never flew on the boat, just fluttered a little and walked/hopped around so we thought it might be hurt. As soon at we got back in the ICW it flew off into the trees just south of the inlet.
