I've seen some fluke rigs that they use up north with those inline willow leafs....

That sure is a great Idea. Infact I was going to order some blade sleeves and ebay. Thanks for the tip Steve.

Compact round baitcaster reel like a Daiwa Luna, Abu 4500/5500 C3 mag. A baicaster helps repeaded casting so much easier than a spinning reel. If you know to do it right, you can just use only one hand to push the button, cast, crank the reel in the same hand once to put the reel in retrieve mode while holding a beer can in the other hand .

Nice flounder report. Don't know if you cleaned it but the gar is good eating also. The meat along its back is great.

We released it. Good to know they are good tasting. Next time, If I catch one, It's coming home. Do I need a fresh water license to harvest a gar?

I'm sorry. I don't know. I usually but a combo fresh/salt license so I never think about it.

Great job on the Flatties Arun!
Great info and report as usual, I use the standard carolina rig but after reading your report I will be trying the short leader length to keep that egg sinker from traveling up the line.
