Was at the pond before first light with a white popper on the flyrod. The bass didn't start feeding til about 7:30 but when they started, they were biting. About 1/2 dozen on the fly and it seemed the topwater bite stopped about 8:15 but with a good amount of shoreline activity I switched to ultralight spinning with a yozuri crystal minnow and mopped up another dozen before daddy duty called me away.
No real size but they were all feisty.
On the long rod , sweet.
"You'll get your weather"
It didn't stop there.
Went out later around 1pm with a fluke and got another 6-8 in about an hour. Same late sun afternoon.
It was on fire around here. Hadn't had a weekend of bassin like that in a couple years. Easily 2 doz in about 4 hrs total.
My pond has been fired up all week.
