I look forward to trying the mystery fish, everyone says its great but this is my first. I will say the filets were not as white as the typical porgy you catch in 80 feet of water.

It is either a jolt head or saucereye porgy. IGFA record of a saucereye is 9 lbs. Doesn't say anything for joltheads
Well played and thanks for the report and the pics. Looks and sounds like you guys had a great day on the water. Also, nice transom on that boat of yours. What brand is the boat? I like the live well and the abundance of rod holders.
Dooze, thanks for the note. The boat is a Boston Whaler Outrage. BW doesn't make the fastest boats, but the ride is smooth and dry and they are nicely equipped for fishing.
