Fishing Report 9/2! G-R-O-U-P-E-R!

I've been trying to make a point to take more pics even during the action. This is from last weekend, we launched at Wiggins/Cocohatchee and were headed about 45-50mi. out around 5:30am. Water was a little rougher than normal, about a solid 3ft....a few 4's, but luckily laid down later in the afternoon. Used various kinds of cut bait (squid, threads, and even some VERY skunky shrimp from months ago). By 12noon we had our limit in Grouper (most times limit out, this is the first time it's been that early!)....In fact, we tossed back SEVERAL legals only because they only clocked in around 21-23"! Also, this is the second trip in a row we found Mahi out of Wiggins/Bonita Beach! While they were pretty small, we did hook up to several that would have measured easily in the 24" range! I realize that's nothing for many....but I've never heard of people catching mahi in this area...
