Anybody got scissors? One nch over!
Hit the beach this afternoon with some finger mullet. I have always said "The rougher and nastier the weather and water the better the snook fishing" in the surf anyway.
Shortly after my 40lb leader parted and sent a huge snook on her way my friend who has never caught a keeper snook got this fat 33 inch one in the turbulent inside wash. Sad to say he still has not got a keeper snook but the picture is a keeper.
I managed to get a fat 30 incher inspite of several missed hits this afternoon.
Not very many fingerlings moving through yet. We got most of our bait in the river.
But it is heating up!

Good stuff. You free lining or using lead?

Good guess.
One or two split shots at the most.
I free line when the grass gets heavy. Which I suspect will show up shortly now that the storms have stirred things up.

With that flat of a beach you know it's Coaco.

Nice snook. Thanks for the information going south to melbourne beach area this weekend. Just hope the wind lays down a little

Don't worry about the winds. I got one Weds. morning with 15kt NE wind in my face. Snook love that rough stuff. As long as the grass isn't clogging your line go fishing. They are there.

There was a ton of finger mullet in the surf this morning. And the snook and redfish are biting here in cocoa beach.
