Went offshore out of homosassa for the 1st time last saturday. Picked spot off topspot map, caught alot of big grunts, red grouper with 2 being keepers. we were chummimg when we spot man in the brown suit, I grab freeline pole put a pin fish on and it gets whacked. After a nice fight bring him to the net and in the boat he comes 44" Cobia. Have picture on my phone don't know how to uplload on computer. Well fishing slows down, go to start boat but all it does is spin over, no fire. We work on it for a while finally call towboat. Capt. Dan says he'll be there in 2 hours. so we use the ipilot to move another spot and continue fishing till he gets there. We tie rope on and start in, my sister says why don't you try to start boat, bam she fires up and we on our way in. so we get to marker 2 and i flag down Capt. Dan to give him a tip for coming all the way out there to get us. He says I gotn a few "TIPS" for you. So sunday we head out to these new found tips along the way the boat acts like it's losing fire. Well I happen to lean on the kill switch and boat takes off again. Then tries to die again I push down on switch and it takes off again. I look for some tape to wrap around plastic key only have a bandaid but it works and were off. Well we caught well over 70 to 80 grouper with 4 keeper gags and 4 keeper reds. We left the fish to get in early to have dinner with mom and dad. Labor day we go back out and again we get 4 keeper gags and 1 keeper red with 60 to 70 grouper released. I want to say THANKS to CAPT.DAN for the spots not many fisherman give out #'s. We had a blast and will be coming back to homosassa again. Sorry for the late and long report. Matt![]()
