For those of you that have been asking about dolphin reports and how to out off Haulover, this report is for you all....
Went out Sunday expecting nice ocean because of all the marine forecasts, but it was blowing out NE and strong with scattered storms everywhere all day. So bottom fishing and deep dropping got canceled, so we decided to find dolphin. It didnt take long, we fished all morning right out front from Haulover Cut, all the fish were caught between 500-700 ft and there were birds and scattered weeds everywhere, with the ocassional tree logs and bamboo poles floating around which held nice dolphins under. We caught them all running and gunning under the birds and getting the first ones to the boat trolling ballyhoo with skirts. It definitely was a really sloppy day but very fishy, there was alot of action. Total for the day is 10 dolphins of nice size and a nice size sailfish caught trolling and then revived and released to fight another day. Enjoy the pics.
